A great late fall paddle on Lovesick Lake

It’s hard to believe now, with the snow that’s in the forecast, but only a week or so ago I spent a great couple of hours paddling around in my shorts and a T-shirt, on Lovesick Lake — a small lake to the northeast of Toronto, near Peterborough. The lake was like glass. And I was hot! Hard to believe, almost halfway through November. I realize this is probably a result of climate change and global warming, etc. but I can’t say I didn’t enjoy it anyway 🙂

I put my kayak in right near the locks at Burleigh Falls, and then paddled up one side of the lake and down the other. It’s not a big lake, so it only took me about an hour to get to the locks that connect to Lower Buckhorn Lake, and then an hour or so to get back. It’s not the first time I’ve paddled Lovesick — I had another great day on the lake back in May, which I posted a photo of — but this was a great way to bring the paddling season to an end.
